My new home in Kensington :-)
Has it already been 2 months since my last update? Wow! Time flies when life is fantastic, no? At least in my opinion it appears that time slows down for sarrow, pain, etc. You know, all of those unsatisfying experiences in life. However, without them I believe we would not appreciate the excellence there is to experience in all of the other moments given to us. :-)
December was filled with fun, laughter, family and friends on both sides of the pond. I learned that idiot sounds more like idjeeit in Ireland and if you choke in a pub there you are likely to hear the phrase "I might have to give you the breath of life." Now, that phrase would be ideal coming from Johnny Depp but the 60 year old Irish man that said it to me...not so much!
Mary and I got a bit rowdy during the holiday part at the stadium where the Arsenal play. Well, to be honest I basically enjoyed many nights out socializing, dancing, etc. with Mary in all three countries. We spent NYE with Katherine as well. My first all girl NYE ever...well almost all girls. We may have fraternized with a few fellows throughout the night.
It was great to visit home and spend quality time with my pooch and family before heading over to London for the assignment to truly begin. Rod and I took our pooches out to the park on my final week in town. It is great to have family and friends back home that support me when I am gone and appreciate me when I am home. :-)
Life in London has been top fun! I am living off of High Kensington street in the heart of central London. I love my flat but my relocation company has driven me mad lately. I have beds for the rooms and a tv but no other furniture to speak of until March. LOL! I have been out almost every night experiencing new restaurants and of course enjoying time with new friends and my fellow expats. I am cataloguing everything for those who come to visit ;-) Beach Blanket Babylon and Electric in Notting Hill are both at the top of the list thus far but Gaucho in South Kensington is up there as well.
On top of being quite the foodie as of late, I am touring about on the weekends as well. We checked out Hampton Court Palace last weekend where Henry the VIII hung his hat but not any wives (although you can check out the Tower of London if you would like to see where Ann B. lost her life). There is too much to do and see from this side of the pond that I worry I might miss something!!
Valentines day in France, Rome with the girls in May, Dublin again in June, Africa in July, Prague in August, Greece in September....
