Activity #1-On Saturday Justin took me over to the go cart racing track (http://www.speedwayraceway.com/) where he proceeded to defeat me in every race. Yes, I am big enough to admit that I will never be like Danika Patrick. Despite the fact that my father (http://www.racingwest.com/drivers/info.php/773/) is a rather good racer, it is unfortunately not a genetic trait. It was extremely fun despite the minor bruises which showed up today.

Activity #2-Early this morning I headed out to Buckeye where the Desert Skydiving Center resides. As an early birthday gift my father and I jumped from 11,000 feet. WOW! I thought that I would be a nervous wreck heading up in the Cessna to such a high altitude. However, I felt a sense of serenity and peace with the idea that I was going to free fall. By the time the camera man opened up the door for me and the instructor to jump I was on cloud 9, literally and physically! The experience was amazing and thanks to my Chris, I have it all on DVD. When you jump out of a plane time goes by faster than you can believe. (Now if I could just figure out how to make my MBA homework go by like that!) Dad became a bit nauseated by the transition of free fall to the parachute drag. I on the other hand was using the drag cords to do swirlies before the landing ha, ha, ha! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!
Friday was rather eventful as well. Adrienne and I headed over to Scotty Stock III (a benefit concert for the owner of what used to be the best concert venue in AZ --Nita's Hideaway). Jimmy Eat World, Roger Kline & The Peacemakers and several other bands played from 6pm until the early morning hours of Saturday. The crowd was eclectic to say the very least thus the people watching was ideal. Adrienne and I must have seen a gaggle of skinny jeaned men that were one sandwhich away from death. And embarassingly enough one of my ex's was amongst them. Adrienne said he looked like a hair dresser. I am choosing to take that as a compliment of his fashionable nature in direct opposition to the possible implication that he might be too pretty to play for team female.
All in all it was damn good night out on the town with a good friend. My birthday has not even arrived yet and already I can tell it is going to be outstanding. With a lead in like skydiving, racing and a rock show, there is no doubt indeed. Due to the fact that the big day falls on a Tuesday I am having the debauchery commence this Saturday. I am not going to divulge the ridiculousness that is planned because I believe the pictures will be worth more than a 1,000 words! Don't forget to check back in soon ;-)
